Dear Sir or Madam

I am writing to apply for the position of Creative Magazine Designer. Having read the job description, I believe that my excellent academic record, professional knowledge, interpersonal and language skills make me a strong candidate for the position.

As a postgraduate student recently awarded the degree of MSc Integrated Product Design with Merit from Brunel University, I have been intensively trained creatively using divergent and convergent design thinking and '5D' design process namely Discovery, Definition, Design, Development and Deliverables, in order to develop excellent project development skills. Moreover, my skills have been developed in both individual and team working environments, and the results of the team parts in several modules including '3D-CAD and Manufacture Techniques' modules were A or A+. Also, my individual work is excellent as well, for example, I recently received an A as the result of the 'Dissertation Project'. In terms of English, I have been living in shared flat in a non-Chinese environment for more than one year during my study and I have lived in Australia for several months before I come to the UK, and therefore I can speak and write fluent English as well as Mandarin and Taiwanese.

The degree of BA Graphic Design from Xiamen University which is one of the top 20 in China proven my excellent sketching and 2D CAD drawing and rendering skills especially proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Flash. Moreover, I have worked in one of the largest clothes factories (HEKEY) in China and I am confident and very quick to learn. Half a year's working experience in both fashion and advertising company also provides me with good commercial awareness.

As a 27 year old designer originally from China, I am a very talkative and resourceful person with persistence and enthusiasm about design. I have a valid initial working permit until 21st January 2013 and my expected salary is a minimum of GBP 20,000 in order to meet the requirements of the UK Border Agency Tier 2 General Working Visa - which would then allow me to remain for at least six years.

I have a Chinese driving license for more than 3 years, and therefore I can easily apply for an international drive license if it is necessary.
