I would like to take this opportunity to apply for the role of Digital Copywriter for your company. I would love the opportunity to work for a company of which I admire, respect and have a vested interest in. I feel I have the skills and attributes to excel in this role and I hope that you consider my application.
The nature of my masters degree course, the NCTJ accredited Journalism MA, combined with my extensive internships, work placements and work for national fashion and lifestyle brands that I have undertaken, have prepared me for this position, providing me with a large array of both journalism practice and skills in multi-media environments.
It is my work at LOOK magazine of which I think you will be most interested in. My work here as Editorial & Marketing assistant involved me organizing their high profile 5th Birthday party which generated a great deal of coverage on their various mediums and social media channels as well as with the national press. Along side this I worked on their High Street Fashion Week and later their Annual Look Show helping with the organization of features for both their website and magazine and working with the various fashion brands involved, building long lasting connections with these companies. I also helped launch their social platform Look What I'm Wearing which seeks to gain active participation from their large audience. I have also worked for a large PR agency which required me writing product copy for various high profile luxury brands and looking at new and forward thinking ways for them to develop their brands.
My Masters Dissertation was completed on the subject of fashion in a digital age. Digital journalism and social platforms is something which I am extremely passionate and knowledgable about. This covered the subjects of magazines, blogging, social networking, online shopping, events and online editorial among others and was made up of a number of articles and videos. This is something which you also obviously feel very strongly about. As well as this I successfully run and market my own blog Charlie and the Fashion Factory which I have written for several years and has led me to building and maintaining invaluable relationships and partnerships with different brands and companies.
I am a conscientious and passionate individual who has shown that I am dedicated to pursuing a career in journalism for an online lifestyle company. I am eager to learn and develop as a person and I believe whole heartedly that this is the place for me to do that.
