About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the Junior Editor position -- my greatest skill is communications, both written and verbal, and I absolutely love fashion, homewares and beauty. I hold an MSc in Journalism from Columbia, and having lived in New York for 18 months, II have a fresh, international perspective, and truly care about beautiful writing to showcase beautiful ideas.

After completing my Journalism Masters, I worked at an HR tech company in New York called Apploi, writing content, managing social media and communications and engagement. Given that it was a small company, I had the opportunity to really do a lot, and I learnt a great deal about how to make people aware and engaged. I had the opportunity to run several of their digital platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and GooglePlus, and worked out that consistent messaging and a jovial tone was what our audience best responded to.

I wrote four pieces of content per week for the website, driving everything from conception to delivery. I also tried email marketing for the first time, working on success strategies and optimal messaging. The challenge, which I rose to, was keeping the content fresh, but the tone consistent. I also worked at Elite Daily, a lifestyle website, where I generated my own features ideas and shared them on social media. Pieces generated readership of over 40,000.

I am an organised, self-motivated and passionate person, who thrives in fast-paced team environments. I consider myself to be a quick thinker and learner, and am highly innovative and creative. I think quickly on my feet, and consider myself to be a people-person.
