About me

My background is in fashion but I currently work mostly in community arts and theatre. I am particularly looking for creative projects focused on community participation or tackling social injustice and design work within companies with a focus on ethical and environmentally sustainable sourcing and manufacturing.
In recent years I have gained experience as an artist and designer working on projects focused on community participation. I have worked with participants of all ages and gained a lot of experience working with children and young people in schools, theatre and community settings. I teach workshops and run creative projects in visual arts, textiles crafts and fashion and costume design.
As a designer I am versatile and have experience working on mens, womens and childrenswear as well as costume design for theatre. I enjoy designing both formal and casualwear and can work on most types of garments including jerseys and wovens, denims, knitwear, swimwear and accessories. I have also gained some experience working on specialist clothing such as equestrian, cycling and climbing-wear.
I have strong freehand drawing and illustration skills as well as experience with Illustrator, PhotoShop and CAD packages. I can produce print and embroidery designs and have needlework skills. I have experience liasing with factories in Europe and the Far East and producing detailed technical specifications with details of fabrics and accessories. I can create graded specs and provide suppliers with all the necessary technical information. I am also experienced in fitting and approving samples and producing technical drawings for improvements in fit. I have assisted on photo shoots and helped to produce promotional material.
As an artist/illustrator I enjoy working on fashion related projects but I also enjoy both hyper-realistic drawing and painting and cartoon style work. I am particularly interested in illustrating for the childrens and fantasy genres. I have strong skills with all 2D media including experience with photography.
