About me

I am a passionate and talented editor currently working on an award-winning national magazine.

I have over three and a half years of editorial experience covering both print and online media. I am currently editor of g3 magazine, a national monthly magazine for lesbian and bisexual women with an estimated readership of 140,000. The magazine's content includes celebrity interviews, features, and regular news, community, parenting, recruitment, music, film, fashion and arts sections. g3 also provides detailed listings for gay bars and clubs across the UK. In almost three years with the magazine, I have been promoted rapidly - I rose from the position of editorial assistant to deputy editor after just six months and then to the position of editor in August 2009, after 18 months. I was immensely proud to see the magazine awarded the prestigious Publication of the Year award from gay rights charity Stonewall under my editorship.

In addition to my full-time job as editor of g3, I also fulfil various voluntary roles in my spare time. My main role is on the national executive of the Green Party as Internal Communications Co-ordinator. . I am also co-chair of the Young Greens (the youth wing of the party) nationally and I write the monthly email newsletter for sustainable development charity Web of Hope.

Prior to working at g3, I completed editorial internships with ethical living website Hippy Shopper and gay newspaper Pink Paper, and occupied full-time paid roles as Campaigns and Information Assistant for the British Union of the Abolition of Vivisection and Raiser's Edge Coordinator for Crisis.
