About me

Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to apply for the role of Graphic designer. I believe I am a suitable candidate for the follow reasons: I am friendly and approachable with creative and imaginative ideas, educated to degree level in Graphic Design & Illustration. I am highly organised with a high level of attention to detail. I also have experience working within a successful graphic design agency.

At my current employment I have been able to work with high profile clients, meeting demanding deadlines and bringing a large variety of different design briefs to life. This has given me excellent organisation and communication skills. I am confident working on multiple projects at once.

I started as a junior designer in December 2010. My high skill level and ability to learn quickly have made me able to further my position in the company in a very short space of time. I now work closely with the creative director for one of our big clients. I have contact with clients on a daily basis and can work individually or as part of a team. I work with a varied client base and have worked on all kinds of different projects from medical training documents to the latest fragrance poster for big department stores like John Lewis and Debenhams. Prior to my current employment, I worked freelance within the marketing department of Oxford and Cherwell Valley College as a Junior Designer/Artworker. My design work can be seen around all four campuses in the form of maps, brochures and leaflets.

I have also worked with clients in a freelance capacity one example being Oysterware a digital signage company. I have done a variety of print based designs for them. One of my designs is currently being used as a logo on the client's product.

Designs I created on my degree course have also won competitions sponsored by business. For example GFSmith (a paper manufacturer) and Chipping Norton Theatre.

I have strong software knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and a basic knowledge of Flash. I am confident using Microsoft Office programs and can work on Mac or PC. I am keen to further my professional development by learning Dreamweaver at present I have only a basic knowledge of it.

I also have an understanding of print production as we work closely with printers to produce client's work.
