About me
This summer I graduated from Manchester University with a 2:1 in English Literature. The open nature of my degree has allowed me to complete several creative internships exploring a variety of industries. It was during my Foundation Year at Chelsea College of Art and Design where my creative flair transformed into more of a career path for me. Managing my own time at university allowed me to devote much of my free time to the student radio and television broadcasts; producing, writing and even hosting.
My experience includes six weeks at a creative advertising agency as a Project Coordinator to three months at a fashion house, helping to produce the Alberta Ferretti runway show for Spring/Summer 2012. These placements have given me experience working successfully in a team and independently, interacting with key talent and performing well under pressure. Whilst my English degree has helped me to nurture excellent written and verbal communication skills, my involvement in producing television and radio broadcasts has spanned from brainstorming pre-recorded segments to operating studio cameras.
Skills
My English degree has allowed me to nurture excellent written and verbal communication skills, writing essays and giving presentations on a monthly basis over the past few years. My interest in design from my Art Foundation course combined with my written degree has equipped me with the skills I need to focus my creativity. More than this, as I have completed placements in a variety of industries, both local and overseas, I have gained experience in working with many different personalities, some easier than others. The result is that I am confident in interacting with employees operating at any level of responsibility. I consider myself a team player, but I am also competent working independently and individually.
Sector Experience
Last summer I interned in New York for three months at Aeffe USA, representing luxury European fashion brands. Assisting with the production of the Alberta Ferretti runway show and Fashion's Night Out marked the end of my internship; researching and securing DJs and alcohol sponsors. I completed six weeks of work experience at Jack Morton as a Project Coordinator, which certified me as part of their team. Acting as the messenger between the Creatives and the Producers, I completed extensive research and was invited to share my ideas regularly in meetings., I have helped with the production of Prima Magazine’s ‘Comfort Prima High Street Fashion Awards’ where I assisted backstage, ensuring the event ran as smoothly as possible., At university, I became involved with the production of the student radio and television broadcasts, Fuse FM and Fuse TV. I have assisted in inventing, researching, recording and editing novel pieces for both.
