About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am currently a freelance editor and motion graphics designer, and I am applying to join you as Broadcast Video Editor. I have a broad range of experience in editing and post-production in feature film, having spent over three years at post house MPC, and in short form projects during my work since as a freelancer. I am expertly trained in FCP, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and a number of other programs, as detailed on my CV. I am extremely keen to gain more experience of all types of projects, building on my existing experience editing short films and music videos, and as a VFX Editor for features.
A little about my background: I started at MPC in 2009, and worked my way up from editorial assistant to Senior VFX Editor within just a few years. There I worked on such high profile films as Prometheus, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and The Chronicles of Narnia. I regularly presented footage for our high-profile clients, such as Ridley Scott, Bryan Singer, Darius Wolski, Tim Burke (of the Harry Potter franchise), and many others, often performing editing, playback and basic colour grading on demand. Responsibilities included showreel and previs editing, client liaising, and digital data management, but most importantly I gained invaluable skills in project management and planning, and fostered an intense attention to detail. I was trained in all aspects of post-production which, in addition to the variety of the job, has given me an extensive knowledge of film and TV formats, and the history of the moving image. My freelance work has given me a chance to experience autonomy as an editor, in comparison to working for large-scale projects which can be creatively stifling.
The diversity of my experience so far has taught me a huge amount, but most importantly has made me extremely comfortable working with all types of people. Hopefully my experience speaks for itself, it only remains to say I believe I can do an excellent job editing on your projects, and I am sure you will be happy with the results.

Charlie Stewart
