About me
I graduated with a First in Journalism & Media Production from Solent University as of 2020, while at University I've gained experience through different avenues; while using connections, organisation and creativity, I hope to increase my experience and further develop my initiatives moving forward. I already have a high amount of writing and illustration experience while writing for brands such as Voir Mag, as well as creating my own blog, Land of Credo. When it comes to managing, creating and organisingMusic Events, I have a background within that as I've created my own Music Industry Event, The Network - Southampton, that aims at inspiring passionate music heads.
While pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Music Journalism at Solent University, I have accomplished:
● Increased my understanding of industry-standard programmes including Adobe Audition, Online CMS, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, Powerpoint, InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
● Process of creating and coding websites.
● Experience with writing press releases, news, opinion pieces, covering
interviews and profile pieces/features.
● Experience with handling Social Media for businesses
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Very strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
● Experience of logging, tracking and reporting information.
● Skills in the comparative analysis of critical readings drawn from music
industries texts and broader cultural theories.
As well as taking the role of the University Course Representative, I have developed a significant amount of leadership skills, as the role involves:
● Consulting with students for feedback
● Identifying any issues they are facing
● Raising feedback to the university
● Be visible and contactable to students
● Attending at least 6 key meetings throughout the year
