Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to submit my application for the junior designer role. My background is product design, graduating from the University of West of England, Bristol, with a 2.1 BSc (Hons) in Creative Product Design.

I have worked in the position of Design, Research and Innovation assistant at a luxury bespoke furniture company Silverlining. My role has enabled me to hone my design and research skills in creative and fast pasted environment, while expanding my knowledge of materials and processes. Versatility has been key to my role, carrying out hands-on testing, model making, desk based research and design development, working closely with clients and craftsmen to develop designs for manufacturing.

I currently work part time (unpaid) for Alex Hull Studio as a Design Assistant working closely with Mr Hull developing the first signature range of furniture for the studio. Focus has been on the concept development, refining the designs, sourcing materials and taking key decisions to move the pieces into the final design phase. The sofa was recently displayed with Gallery Fumi at the PAD festival in Barkley Square London.

Well organised and meticulous, I am an enthusiastic junior designer wanting to find an opportunity to develop my skills.

I have experience in all stages of the design and manufacturing process; from initial concepts to completion phase. I am experienced in using a mixture of media to produce visually clear concept, presentation and development work.

I enjoy learning new skills and I like a challenge. An opportunity to discuss the position in more detail would be hugely appreciated.
