About me
I am recent English graduate with a passion for communication and wordsmithery - bursting with creativity, at present my only outlet is the kitchen. I don't know how much more the cooker can take. In addition, I write, blog, tweet, 'book, Pin and exercise my brain with anything linguacentric.
What I may lack in tangible experience, I make up for in ability and determination. I am looking for a challenging, creative role in a fast-paced environment. So, I write to you on the off-chance that you are looking for someone who has a huge amount to give, learns quickly and isn't averse to pressure and hard work. (That would be me, by the way.)
Post-university I have written foodie articles for a free magazine and worked as the sole online content editor for a charity, but I am keen to challenge myself and move my career forward. At present I am working as a freelance writer and editor for iTrigga, creating unique, SEO content for retail clients. I also have a line in ghost blogging - once a week I pretend I'm a 50 year old, ex-army, small business entrepreneur called Tim.
Tenacious, instinctive and rigorous in my work ethic, I push ideas to their limits - if there are still associations, connotations and allusions that haven't been explored when creating exciting copy, my work is not complete. I am fanatical about grammar, tone and punctuation - from a humble postcard to a formal business proposal, accuracy is indicative of professionalism and respect for the reader. Examples of my work can be found in blog form at *://bit.ly/wj81pe.
I have experience writing to a wide variety of briefs, in different styles, deploying a range of diverse registers where necessary. Communication and advertising are about more than conveying information: they are about tone, brand-message and emotion. My flexible, creative, diplomatic and innately practical approach can support and propel a collaborative project, while my ability to work independently to tight deadlines and take the initiative enables me to work alone. My previous employers have given me excellent feedback - visit my LinkedIn profile to see their remarks concerning my work.
I hope that you can see my determination, willingness to work and sparky nature in the lines above. I would be delighted to discuss my CV and any other matters in interview, if appropriate.
