About me

My name is Carmen Tanasescu and I recently graduated from the University of Southampton, with a solid second upper Fashion Marketing degree. I am emailing in regards to the graduate trainee opportunity and I truly believe my past work experience and skill-set make me a matchless candidate for the job.

I have previously worked in both England and Romania, for numerous companies in the industry: Diane von Furstenberg, Marie Claire magazine, The Clothing Lounge, just to name a few. When I worked for the Clothing Lounge, specifically, I had to work in a Magento back end, which prompted me to learn how the interface works, which shows my abilities as a fast learner and being responsible, as well as what kind of content and picture editing the website needed on both their home page and product pages, which illustrates my creativity and rapid thinking when solving different problems. As a website assistant,I had to maximise their reach as well as other things. In order to do that, I had to decide on which products to pull or push on the website, write a whole new bio and sometimes write whole new product descriptions so they seemed more relevant and important to the consumers. Also, I worked extremely close with the social media team so we got to decide what materials to publish and what to use in their own branded magazine. In contrast, when I worked for Diane von Furstenberg as a sample sale and wholesale Fashion Week assistant, I developed a hands-on approach to working, as well as building my communication skills, to an unparalleled level.

I am a creative, open minded professional, with really strong creative writing skills. I also excel at working in teams, especially in a friendly, fast-pace environment, managing my time excellently, keeping diaries and having a indubitably great calendar management system and always being annoyingly on time when dealing with deadlines and meetings. My phone manner and liaising with people, be them PRs or teams of people, have been rehearsed and replayed to perfection. I can also work amazingly well with both Windows and Apple softwares, as well as the Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. All these personal and technical skills have been further developed through my studies at University, when I had to create and rationalise different creative briefs in modules like fashion promotion, strategic fashion marketing, digital fashion marketing or fashion business.

My ambitions for the near future are to work in a creative, challenging and writing-prone environment and to further my experience into other fields of work, if applicable. As a coffee lover, I enjoy early starts and late evenings, and as a lover of all that's beautiful, I respect and enjoy looking at art, watching movies, listening to music or reading amazing books.

If you would like to see any of my previous works for University or just want to be sure I know how to writer or be creative, don't hesitate to email or call me. Even DM me on Instagram. I've also attached my CV, in case you want to see all this in a more condensed way of phrasing.

Thank you for your time and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Carmen Tanasescu
