Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to apply for the position of the Video Editor/Camera Operator. I have completed my master of arts in film making at The London Film School, in which I gained my editing skills. Filmmaking has always been my passion, it is through this medium that I constantly strive to connect with people, creating emotional and engaging content. Through editing I strive to create compelling and creative storytelling. I have experience in editing, sound design and recording for short films and documentaries. My editing work has been screened at the Cannes Film 2013 along with other international film festivals. I have on location sound recording experience working on both a nagra and zoom recorders from various short films and documentary projects, along with experience of filming with both the Canon 5D & 7D as well as Aaton 16mm and Superamercia 35mm cameras. Within my own film projects I have gained experience of working with green screen, as well digital composting.
I have carried out various internships within RSA Films (Ridley Scott Associates) working in various roles within the commercials and music videos. This culminated with me directing and shooting a behind the scenes short of a Emilíana Torrini music video. My time at RSA Films gave me a strong professional work ethic and understanding of the industry. I also have a strong background and understanding of digital editing, which I gained through my time spent at the London Film School.
I am highly motivated and enthusiastic as well as being very organized and extremely detailed oriented in my work. I work well both independently and within a team from experiences of working with and in small crews from my own film projects and others short films. I am proficient in using a Mac, and many computer programs such as Photoshop, Avid, Premier pro, Final cut pro, and After effects. I hope I would be able to have the opportunity to work with your company. I am confident that I would be able to bring many valuable visual skills to productions.
