About me
I studied Computer Related Design, part-time and ended up tutoring on the course. From there I went on to a local paper nightshift, setting classified adverts mostly working in Quark but with some photoshop work.
After this I moved on to a repro company where I was handling magazine layout, creating artwork, taking briefs from clients, some scanning and then running to film and ensuring that there were no problems with my own and supplied artwork. Here I was using Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop.
When I moved back to London my first job was with a printers, where I undertook many different tasks using all the major software packages on both Macs and PCs. Here I worked on everything from flyers, business cards to large format display work. I have been in my current postition now for seven years and mostly work in Quark setting day-to-day adverts, so my Quark skills are very strong. I have a good eye for detail and am fairly methodical, which is vital as I am the final stop before an advert goes to print. I also regularly use Illustrator and Photoshop to create artwork for more creative projects. I have just started using Indesign, as I feel it is important to keep up with current software. I am currently working a project which involves filming and editing vox pops using i-movie, which is quite challenging but good experience to have. As well as my Artwork duties I also deputise for the Studio Manager in his absence and oversee the creative supplies for the studio.
