About me
I am a South African illustrator, ink lover and art maker. I have a studio in Cape Town, where I like to explore, get seriously messy and delight in trying out new techniques and styles. I find beauty in the imperfect and humour in everyday situations.
In a previous life, I worked at MPC London as a lighting artist in post-production. Today, I enjoy creating by hand with pencils, pens and paintbrushes, but also love illustrating digitally on Illustrator and Photoshop. Sometimes I like to mix it up by combining analogue and digital.
My work ranges from large format ink artworks to vector infographics, characters for digital platforms and even a children's book produced in 12 hours for a charity called Book Dash. I recently completed some editorial illustrations for an aviation magazine, ink portraits of podcast guests and vector character illustrations for an app.
When I am not creating art or commissioned illustrations, I run a side-hustle t-shirt business called Kink Ink. 'Kink' for unexpected and left of centre; 'Ink' for the sublime meld of pigment and water.
