About me
Dear Sir/Madam
Re: Junior Integrated Project Manager Opportunity
As a graduate in Web Development (BSc, First Class Honours) at Northumbria University, I am writing to apply for the Junior Integrated PM role, an opportunity I discovered on .
Through my studies in Web Development, I have had the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of a very technical aspect of IT. During my period at University I was able to develop myself in different yet relevant areas of IT, such as project management and digital marketing. In addition to this, I successfully secured a yearlong placement within the IT department of McDonald's head office in London.
During my placement my main project involved rolling out tablet devices in restaurants nationwide in the 'Spirit of Family' concept. I conducted fundamental research in the initial stages of this project involving timeframes, B2B talks with suppliers regarding the equipment and stock replenishment. Throughout the year I built and maintained strong working relationships with stakeholders from companies such as Samsung, BouncePad and AirWatch.
Alongside this project I liaised with different sections of the IT department on a regular basis and compiled weekly reports based on progress and events. I also managed and completed all purchase orders for the IT department.
Since graduating I have commenced an online PRINCE2 Foundation Project Management course and I aim to be certified before the end of 2014. I am currently working through a short internship at a digital agency in London called Draw, working alongside their account managers and digital project managers.
I am aware that my degree is in a niche field and my reason for applying to this may seem a little puzzling. My ambition to proceed down this career path was greatly influenced by my time at McDonald's as I found project management extremely rewarding and I believe a digital project management role is a great opportunity to combine both elements.
I have always maintained a project manager's mentality throughout my academic lifetime by following standardised practices. These practices helped me stay organised, be prepared for any unforeseen complications and ultimately meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of quality in my work.
I am confident that I could make an immediate contribution to the company by applying my strong motivation, professional skills, and experience. Thank you for considering me for your team.
Sincerely,
Callum Bell
