About me
Hi there, I'm Byron. I recently graduated from the Uni of Brighton with a first in BA graphic design, what's more important though is the skills I've grown from the course with both print and digital mediums. On the print side, having learned letterpress, book binding, prepping for CMYK, risograph and lasercut printing. It has become a serious joy to me whenever I get the opportunity to work analogue for print design and editorial projects. I've grown my skills in the Adobe Suite with Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign, and recently I've began trying to teach myself web design via Cargo, Framer and Readymag, which is an ongoing but rewarding process!
Something I've come to enjoy at university is being involved at every step of the process and essentially wearing many hats. Particularly, in recent editorial projects. For example, performing interviews and meeting other great design practitioners with my final semester project 'Run The Gauntlet', then creating, collating and iterating to find the right imagery to build a visual language that could house all of it in a printed publication, before translating that to digital with a companion website and Instagram page. I'm really proud of how it turned out, and I look forward to doing more work like it in the future.
In my freetime beyond education, I love making alternative poster designs for movies, musicians, etc as 'Grungiest Bunny' on social media. It's a fun outlet and where I finesse a lot of my design skills in a more relaxed environment, really it's an excuse to play with typography, imagery and colour. The world's eyeballs deserve to see more colour in the design they have thrown at them.
