Game of Thrones is quite possibly the most popular entertainment franchise on the planet right now, to the extent that almost every item featuring a member of the cast is derided as click-bait these days. Still, we couldn't resist this beautifully shot film for Burberry featuring X-Men: Apocalypse actress Sophie Turner (more popularly known as “Sansa Stark” from the afore-mentioned TV mega hit), who makes the most of the fact she actually gets to wear modern clothing on film in two and a half minutes of effortless cool.

It's the first in a series of three short films created by Condé Nast Britain in collaboration with GQ and Burberry, which ties into the launch of the fashion brand's “Mr. Burberry” fragrance for men, which is inspired by the iconic black Burberry trench coat. “The Departure” is the first episode from this “Night Before” series, and follows Turner as she recounts meeting a mysterious man the previous evening at London's Café Royal. The scene provides a fictionalised yet intimate window into the events that led to her waking up in a beautiful hotel suite and it's a pretty convincing performance, brought to life by some subtle and atmospheric camerawork.

The films, celebrating female actresses, have been co-written and shot by Sara Dunlop from Rattling Stick, whose short film “Dreamlands” has been nominated at the 2016 Cannes film festival, the only film from the UK to be selected from over 5000 entries. In an exclusive global partnership across multiple GQ markets orchestrated by Condé Nast Global Development, and with content created by the Condé Nast Britain Video team, Dunlop's short films will appear on the websites and social media platforms of British GQ, GQ US, GQ France, GQ Italy & GQ Germany.

The second film in the series, which has yet to be released, will will feature Joséphine de La Baume, whilst the third and final film stars Sai Bennett. This isn't the first time Burberry has relied on star power and behind-the-scenes talent for a campaign of course. Indeed, just last month the brand launched a three-minute campaign clip from “12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen. The brand has also been incredibly forward-thinking when it comes to digital marketing, so we can't wait to see what they come up with next, or who they manage to rope in to help them!
