About me

I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge with an illustration degree in 2007, and have since done several freelance jobs including set dressing, illustrating, magazine design, scenic painting and modelmaking, but I am looking for permanent full time work. My main areas of interest are figurative drawing, fashion illustration, image editing and, on a larger scale, scenic painting. I have experience with physical artworking, mainly for modelmaking companies, and good knowledge of Mac artworking although I mainly use Photoshop to manipulate my own original images. I am a fast learner and I am very keen to learn more about the various ways of utilising Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in a work environment.

My style is organic, energetic, rich, colourful and edgy and I use a combination of physical media (paint, pen and ink, collage and sometimes more unusual materials) and Photoshop. My work is mainly figure based and my main influences are Graham Rounthwaite and Jasper Goodall, although other more historical influences include Cezanne, Klimt and the Pre-Raphaelite movement.

I also have excellent creative writing and English language skills and have worked on two magazines; I was marketing director for the first (in 6th form) and magazine co-ordinator and designer for the second. I would love to explore this avenue further and work on poster design, flyer design or as an assistant for a creative publication if the opportunity arises.
