About me
I wish to apply for a position as a Junior Artworker for Perigord Premedia. The position appeals to me personally, as I seem to tick all the boxes, listed in the requirements for the role advertised.......z
- I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Ulster, and a Fellowship in Medical Science from the Academy of Biomedical Science, Ireland.
- I hold a degree in Adult education from Galway University.
- I hold a FETAC (Level 5) Certificate in Computer Graphics (Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Illustrator CS6) from Dun Laorghaire Senior College. Merit awarded.
- Awaiting results of course FETAC course in Desktop Publishing using Adobe InDesign completed.
- I worked for the first ISO accredited company in Ireland, ICON, Sandyford as Laboratory Manager.
- I also worked in the first CPA accredited Biochemistry in Dublin, i.e. at Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, as a Senior Medical Scientist, specifically as Quality Control Officer.
My history of using graphical illustration in my work includes;
- Designing the "New born Screening Card" used by the Children's University Hospital, Temple Street Dublin 1 using "CorelDraw" 11.
- Outright winning of Poster competitions, one for creating awareness of the dangers of "Needle stick Injury" awarded by the then, "Department of Health" the other for "Diversity in the health Services at Temple Street Hospital, still hanging in the Hospital.
- Using vector-designed graphics and illustrations to teach Arabic Students Clinical Biochemistry in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates .
I have a very basic "speaking" knowledge of Arabic, having worked as Chief Medical Scientist in the King Abdulaziz Naval Base, Jubail, Saudi Arabia ()
I also worked as a Faculty Member in Health Science, Al Ain, Women's College, Abu Dhabi teaching Clinical Biochemistry .
