We made a mini Star Wars in my flat!

We created cinemagraphs by shooting dioramas of scenes from Star Wars Force Awakens and incorporating the official Disney merchandise. Created as individual mini ‘sets’ modeled directly after the real sets we used bespoke sculpted and scenic elements, practical lighting, snow and mist. Kinetic elements like wind and atmosphere were used to heighten the reality of the scenes and add a subtle movement to an otherwise static film still.

Over the course of 5 days, 7 artists rallied together and transformed my East London loft into a tiny little backlot of mini-sets. We started by making 1Msq tiles and then building our little worlds, recreating every detail using mostly recycled materials.

The finished Cinemagraphs were used across social media to promote the official merchandise in conjunction with the release of the film.
