About me
Bjorn Iooss is a lifelong New Yorker who has established a reputation for being a portrait and fashion photographer. Gaining an early interest in photography as a child, Bjorn Iooss was inspired by his father who has been a Sports Illustrated photographer for over a half-century. With Bjorn's background in analog darkroom techniques, he brings a deep understanding of the photographic process to his editorial and advertising work.
Having gained industry experience by assisting numerous other photographers, Mr. Iooss was able to travel to the far reaches of the globe early in his career. These travels helped form Mr. Iooss' aesthetic and passion for shooting on location. He continued to focus on work that included a strong travel element as he embarked on a career in photography, eventually bringing that aesthetic into his studio work.
Mr. Iooss is also known for his revealing studio-based portraiture and maintains a portfolio of editorial clients that include international editions of Vanity Fair, GQ, and Vogue. In addition, he has photographed for Porter magazine and publications such as The Wall Street Journal Magazine. Graduating in 2003, Bjorn Iooss holds a photography degree from the Rhode Island School of Design.
