About me
I have recently completed my studies at Royal Holloway University of London studying Film, Television and Digital Production achieving a high 2:1.
I am confident that I would make a successful applicant as I have been a strong team player and was involved with Rhubarb TV where I assisted the team in setting up and organising numerous live events, namely the Varsity Sporting event which was live streamed to YouTube. During my time at university I was actively involved with the Photography Society in the capacity of secretary and vice president, where I planned and organised weekly events and sessions for the members of the society.
During my summer holidays I worked at Camp America as a photographer, the camp director explained how I captured the 'energy of the moment' and demonstrated my organisational skills by taking over 400 pictures and capturing every child on a daily basis, this role has further enhanced my organisational skills.
Over the past 3 years of studying, I have used creativity to come up with new original ideas where I specialised in cinematography which was one of my core modules. I have been trained to use a Sony FS7 and I am keen and able to learn on any new cameras that I am presented with. I have built up a portfolio of work and produced and filmed my own projects as well as actively participating in a number of collaborative projects. My most recent collaboration project involved going to Australia with my team to film a bio pic on Heath Ledger for our final film project. My roles on the project included cinematography, marketing and fundraising of the project across all social media platforms. The project taught me a lot about the process of getting a carnet to enable us to bring all the expensive camera equipment to Australia.
I am passionate about being involved in production and bringing ideas to life through producing and working as a team to achieve this goal. I worked as a runner and camera assistant on a recent documentary re make 'The Age of Stupid' with other camera operators where I floor managed to allow for a smooth running filming session. The documentary involved many MPs, the likes of Ed Miliband and Caroline Lucas where I had to help coordinate on set to allow for a smooth production. This work was recognised by the director as having lots of energy, competence and enthusiasm on set. I would like to bring my skills and enthusiasm and help innovate new ideas and gain experience in a business environment.
I have also done work experience for 3 weeks in a production company at Films of Record. I worked with the development team to do research for a documentary programme which was being produced for the BBC. I helped with research and aided with logging the rushes. The responsibility of working with confidential material, watching the footage and making notes, taught me a valuable insight into the industry.
I have recently completed a 2-month internship at IMG where I was based at IMG Studios working for the Golfing World and InCycle TV teams. I assisted with script research, logging and research for future features. My work was recognised on Episode 20 for InCycle TV with my name on the credits as a researcher. I also contributed to several feature edits to Golfing World which aired on live TV. During my internship I went on two shoots assisting the assistant producers. The first shoot I filmed with the Sony FS7 camera at the Grinduro Cycling event in Scotland for the In Cycle team and the second shoot I went to the Women's British Open and helped with the shooting and planning process.
