About me
I have over 8 years experience as an Art Director and UI/UX Designer working for a digital agency designing websites, marketing campaigns and branding for various industries from hotels to real estate companies, with clients located in both Mexico and Internationally (United States, Spain, Hong Kong, Australia). One of my websites received 1st Place in the W3 Awards for excellence in their Tourism category.
I have Bachelor of Graphic Design degree and I began my web design career at a medium size digital agency in Cozumel, Mexico as a Junior Web Designer. As the agency grew and obtained International English speaking clients, my fluent bilingual skills, along with my reputation for quality, efficient work made me a perfect fit as the lead designer and project manager for these International accounts, and eventually a promotion to Creative Art Director. I led a team of three designers, while also collaborating with development project managers to ensure production timelines were met and completed within the project brief. After 6 years working at the agency, I decided it was time to take the leap into the next stage of my career and began my freelance adventures. As an Independent Designer I have continued with web design, expanding into e-commerece, as well as branching out into one of my long time passions of brand logos and identity.
I'm passionate about customized website design vs use of templates. I'm not a one size fits all template kind of web designer. I prefer to conceptualize custom design solutions from scratch based on my clients wishes, the website objectives, while balancing aesthetics, usability and functionality. This approach allows me to play with my own infinite creativity vs a templates pre-determined designs and limitations. This more individualized creation process may extend the project timeline some what, however I know in the end my clients will always receive the best and most unique website to represent their own essence and needs.
