About me

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am Beth Winfield and have recently completed BA(Hons) Graphic Design course at Teesside University and have been recognized with a prestigious award from ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers). Typography and Editorial Design are the areas within design that I love and have specialized in within my degree. However I also have experience within many other areas which I am also very confident in.

I have a huge passion for typography and continue to learn and discover new things daily. Recently I was rewarded with a Pass from ISTD for a live brief which they set. This reinforced and enhanced my love for type and I wish to increase skills in this area whilst experiencing design within a working environment. By being awarded this prestigious award it shows that I am a talented designer and have a keen eye for detail and would be a great part of your team. Other skills that I possess are branding, advertising, mailers, web design, photography and more.

During my time at university I have had a lot of experience giving presentations during assessments and for open days, and also have great people skills due to past jobs. I have recently had a placement at DiFFERENT where I worked on projects for Barker and Stonehouse, NE1 and University of Sunderland. I also helped with the design of the university magazine at Teesside (The Tease) for a short while which taught me a lot in terms of working for a client face to face and creating a product to suit their needs.

Skills

I have skills in a range of areas within design. These include typography, editorial design, branding, advertising, web design and more. Also enjoy photography and have some experience in this., I have a lot of experience in all programs within the Adobe Suite and feel very confident within these programs.

Sector Experience

DiFFERENT advertising agency (Designer) 09/12, 2 week placement working for clients including Barker & Stonehouse, NE1 and University of Sunderland., University open day 04/12, Presented my work to future students which included using my public speaking and presentation skills., The Tease Magazine (Designer) 11/11 - 01/12, Worked with the university Graphic Designer to create the student union magazine which gave me great experience working withing a team and learning to work for a client., George at ASDA (Photographer) 01/12, Volunteered doing photography for a fashion show at a shopping centre in Bishop Aukland. Also edited images ready for use.
