About me
I am a young and enthusiastic graduate from the London College of
Fashion. I have spent two years completing courses in Art, Design and
Textiles. In doing this I achieved a greater understanding of the
different aspects of the fashion industry.
I have also completed six months work experience at the fashion
boutique Hemyca. I was working closely with two up and coming designers
who created the label; this was incredibly useful because it helped me
to understand how they started their business and how a studio is run
successfully.
Whilst I was working for Hemyca I was asked to do various tasks
around the studio; such as organising collections, dealing with clients
on the telephone and helping out with pattern cutting. I also worked
with Hemyca at London Fashion Week for their A/W 09 collection. I was
asked to shadow one of the designers, which gave me a fantastic
opportunity to see behing the scenes at the shows and how a collection
is put into production.
In addition to working in fashion I also undertook a six month
secretarial course in 2006. In which I learnt to use Microsoft Office
and entourage, as well as achieving an average of 80 words a
minute.
I feel after doing work experience for Hemyca I can work well under
pressure and thoroughly enjoy being part of a team. I am very motivated
with good attention to detail and a high standard of organisation.
