About me

I am Benedetta Morucci, I'm 25 years old and I'm going to end a master degree course in Product Design at ISIA - high level institute of art- in Florence. Before I spent three years at Politecnico of Milan to get a bachalor degree in Industrial Design.

In spite of my specialization in product design in the last years I have been involved in event and exposithions design and I found this is my way.

I spent the past summer in Brussels working for the designart dealer Victor Hunt. There I was taking care of the setting and the organization of the showroom and exposithions for whom I was also used to select pieces and curate the communication as catalogues, brochures, flyers and newsletters. When I was there I also participated at the Brussels Design September 2011 setting the Raw Edge's exposithion "From flat to Full" in the center of the city.

This experience was amazing because I had the opportunity to know many of the designers whose pieces were exposed in the showroom and talk with them about production processes and materials and the many different ways to develop a concept into a product looking for new ways to make it. That is actually the reason why I decided to be into product design, because I need to touch things, feel the materials, find out how a project can work trying to make it on your own, with your hands. The opportunity to touch something that was just in your mind is one of the greatest thrills you can try I think.

Before and after my Belgian experience I have been working for more than two years at "Arabeschi di Latte", a group of Italian women designers who creates food concepts and bespoke events for companies. During these years I paticipated at three editions of the fashion exposithion Pitti Immagine in Florence and at the Milan Design Week 2011 and 2012. During this period I have been involved in the organization of events and exposithions for design and fashion mostly, from the concept, passing through the project, until the final setting of the space and the communication of the event, so I think I know what you mean when you talk about impossible dead lines and building large installations or setting bis spaces in little time.

I also work in communication for "Cavolfiori a merenda" and Digital Accademia. For the first my role was graphic designer and for the second I used to organize conferences, update the website and take care of the communication both paper and web.

As I said I am really into research on how to turn an idea in to something real designing a moment, a space or an object as you see it in your mind to arouse strong feelings in people while they have experience.

My part I think I can offer to you my exprience in exhibition, product and graphic design, my ability to work in team and, above all, my passion and my anthusiasm. I am a really indipendent and dinamic person with no fear of work and responsabilities.
