About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am currently working at the Jewish Chronicle newspaper and have been there the past 6 years. It has given me fantastic experience in both newspaper and magazine print production.

I see myself as sociable and a good communicator, executing my responsibilities under extreme pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst keeping, a calm, enthusiastic, respectable and diplomatic attitude.

Since my promotion 4 years ago to assistant Production manager, I have been able to run a department successfully during press days and hectic scheduling when my manager is away. My role includes advertising administration and dummy make-up of the paper, overseeing the production department, negotiating space with editorial and on press day communicating with the printers, typesetters and the distribution company, all whilst setting adverts and contacting clients.

The need to adhere to strict weekly deadlines has given me valuable experience of working in a pressurised atmosphere. Not only would I be working on one weeks paper but juggling this with a magazine and any web adverts booked. I wont except any artwork that is not correct and that I feel might jeopardise any element of the print run and will always ask the client to re-supply if I have an issues. Another of my day-to-day jobs is to run & organise all the advertising on thejc.com, producing charts for the sales team and marketing e-mail blasts and our editors weekly email from our data base.

As a designer by trade I am confident & comfortable working with both Mac and PC platforms and am experienced in the use of most adobe programmes (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) and all the usual Office based software.

I am now looking to move on and this position seems the most natural progression as I feel I need a challenge to sink my teeth into.
