About me

Hello and welcome to my online portfolio. I started to make websites a number of years ago whilst trying to promote my music online. Music is a tough medium to promote so I had to find ways to get myself noticed and above all look professional. Along the way I picked up a bit of XHTML, added in some CSS and spiced things up with a bit of Javascript. Being the 'real deal' meant making sure my website looked good to everyone, which is where my love/hate relationship with creating standards compliant websites started from.

After a few versions of my own website, I ventured out and started making site for others. Having designed sites around my own album artwork, incorporating a company or individuals logo or theme into the design of a website became second nature. As the demands and expectations of a website has increased I have begun to include PHP and mySQL into my work to create login systems, blog functions and form validation.

As my background in web design was purely informal, I then decided to partake in an Open University course, which consolidated my knowledge of design practice, usability and the value of web standards.

My efforts in learning and accumulating my knowledge has proved the passion I have for creating good quality websites and you can guarentee that this website will never be able fully display what I can do as I strive to learn something new every day.
