About me
I have always been passionate about design and I love image making whether it's hand drawn or on the computer. My main areas of interest are editorial design and advertising, but I always enjoy working on any creative brief.
After graduating in Graphic Design, I am looking for a full time role where I can use the skills I have learnt.
Currently I am working in the pre press department as a digital print operator. This involves working with various software to set up files and making them print ready. We communicate regularly with clients, and have to also work closely with the finishing department so that jobs are correct and get out on time. I have to work to very strict deadlines and have to manage my time effectively.
I constantly try to develop my skills and learn about areas which interest me. In the last couple of years I have attending an evening course in Web design because I felt it was my main weakness. I now feel more confident using Dreamweaver, but would like to look at a taking a more advanced course soon. I also went on a photography course, which was more a bit of fun but I learnt a lot from it.
My previous role was as an Indesign designer working at Barbour Environment, Health & Safety. Here I worked as a part of a small team on a contract from the HSE. This did not involve a lot of designing, as the HSE set out strict guidelines but I really improved my Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat skills.
