Bas Le Poole specialises in commercial litigation, media and advertising law and intellectual property. Among the clients he advises are media companies, advertisers and trademark owners. Bas Le Poole has more than 30 years experience in dealing with publicity sensitive matters and disputes in various jurisdictions. In addition to this he has extensive experience in conducting interim injunction proceedings. He has been involved in proceedings that led to groundbreaking ECHR case-law on freedom of expression, Dutch Supreme Court case-law on copyrights and ECJ case-law on dataprotection. He regularly publishes and lectures about his specialist areas and is the author of Vergelijkende Reclame (Comparative Advertising). Bas Le Poole has been a partner at Houthoff Buruma from 1989 till 2014. He is the former chair of Houthoff Buruma's Board.
