About me
We live in a visual world, where even subconsciously we are bombarded with signs, symbols, signals, instructions and social codes. Arguably without these, society would struggle to function, given the pressures of an increasing population. Of course, there are those whom will break the 'codes' and cause havoc through misinterpretation, this is where designers relish, to order the chaos. I believe Graphic Designers have an important role to play. Many creations will go un-noticed and un-appreciated. Some become the butt of jokes, such as the roadwork sign, 'Man struggling with Umbrella'. Everywhere you look, even directly around you, there will be something within reach that has had to be designed by someone. Without them, it would not exist today. The need for design will always be present, and having studied at HND level on a Visual Communications course for almost two years at Warwickshire College, I can consciously see the huge amount of design we rely upon on a daily basis.
