About 12 months ago I quit my job in finance because it was rubbish. I then spent a month staring at my crusty navel, wondering what to do with the rest of my so-called "life." Realising that I had no real marketable skills and a pathological aversion to the "real" world, I decided to become a freelance writer.

I sent out hundreds of emails and received very few replies. But I was not deterred, and I finally found a job writing about cats and dogs. It's loads better than working in finance.

Aside from being a competent writer, there's a long list of degrading acts I'm happy to perform in return for paid work.
