About me

In July of last year I left my position as Marketing Coordinator for Diesel, along with many other roles that were included within my job specification, one of my main roles was the running of the Diesel UK Twitter page. This page was started mid-2010 and by the time that I had left was well over the 1500 followers mark. The main aim of this page was to demonstrate Diesel's personality, as well as promote brand new products and events. Another major part of my job was to manage the UK focus on the Diesel global Facebook page. In April 2010, the number of UK-specific followers on the Diesel Facebook page was 7000, and because of this I was set the target of increasing this number through various activities and promotions. At the time that I left the number of UK-specific followers on the Facebook page was 51000.

My role also consisted of organizing and running biannual training events and consumer facing events within our stores, driving communication to the brands mailing list, planning and executing Sale activities, liaising with external agencies, clients and suppliers for various reasons including media activities, POS and Sale Signage (including photo shoots for look books etc). I also focussed on Diesels Wholesale accounts (ASOS, Selfridges, USC etc) and all the marketing activities we undertook with these clients. My career started at Diesel working for the brand 55DSL. As well as carrying out the same actions as stated above, I also dealt on a regular basis with the brands' external PR agency in the strategy and activities carried out in order to increase the presence of the brand.

Not only have I worked within the youth brand fashion industry I also have experience of working within the luxury sector. This includes a 10 month maternity cover contract at Kurt Geiger, where I worked as Marketing Assistant and a 2 year position as a Sales Advisor at Harvey Nichols, Leeds.

Having worked in the fashion industry for over 4 years, at the beginning of July I decided to become a freelancer in the world of events and social media. Since July i've been working for the agencies Ear to The Ground, The Tailor of Shoreditch and It's Pretty Green on their brand activations and events for clients that have included American Express, Cadbury, Lee Jeans and Lyle & Scott amongst others.
