Dear Hiring Manager,
I'm really interested in the Junior Copywriter position and I think I'd be a really great fit to join the team! I have plenty of copywriting experience and editorial flair and my online portfolio can be found at ashleighgradyntently.
I have just graduated from the University of Sussex with a 2:1 in English Literature and the skills I have learnt from my degree ensure that I am a good fit for what you are looking for. I have excellent grammatical and literary skills and I am organised and determined. Importantly, I am passionate about fashion (much to the woe of my student account) and so would give 100% to become involved with such a dynamic and exciting company.
I currently write for a number of publications including Clash Magazine, NME and Notion Magazine and so I have experience in creating fresh and original online content. I have volunteered at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton over the last few years on their social media team and have learnt how to generate social media content to attract large volumes of readership on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine. I have excellent computing skills, using Tweetdeck and Sprinklr whilst at the Great Escape. Whilst at NME I learnt how to use CMS to publish and organise editorial content and generate creative and innovative ideas for stories and leads. I also have experience transcribing and copywriting and I am a real go-getter with a hunger to succeed and thrive in the tasks I am set. I love the fast pace of media jobs and I always ensure that I organise my time well enough to manage every job to tight deadlines. I have experience in retail and sales and I know what sells in terms of image and photography. I am fun and friendly but also professional to provide the excellent communication skills needed for a job at such an exciting company.
