About me
I am a Junior Interior Designer who has worked on projects across the hospitality, residential and commercial sectors with a strong technical grounding and communicative skills. Throughout my professional experience, I have worked on new builds and retrofit projects from initial concept through to completion.
In my current role as Junior Designer, I produce technical drawings and models using AutoCAD and SketchUp and create various polished client decks using InDesign that communicate design proposals, project timelines and rendered visualisations. In addition, I regularly correspond with suppliers, heritage consultants, external contractors and joinery specialist throughout different project phases ensuring the original bespoke design intent is maintained and can be delivered on time and within budget. I also specialise and deliver furniture for different briefs, having had in-depth discussions with clients in order to specify a tailored scheme that meets their every requirement and design the company marketing brochures for property-styling services as they expand.
When working as part of the FF&E department at SMC Design - an esteemed practice specialising in large-scale cruise ship projects - I sourced materials for high-traffic environments such as restaurants and bars, balancing brand narrative with performance standards (portfolio pp. 3-4). Working within fast-paced, detail-oriented teams I balanced brand narrative with performance standards, learning foundational material knowledge such as Martindale ratings and R values and suppliers. While studying abroad in Finland I was also part of a similar collaborative environment when working with other international students on group projects and engaging with local housing specialists.
Later, I produced technical drawing packages as a Junior Designer part of the Interiors team, including OS&E documentation using AutoCAD. Alongside GA plans, floor and ceiling finish layouts, built-in joinery details and custom furnishing elevations part of a comprehensive design packages for large-scale commercial projects. Where consistency and legibility across all drawing sets was integral and significantly sharpened my attention to detail.
I have developed a thorough understanding of National Building Regulations and their implementation during throughout my degree at the University of Edinburgh. Creating a series of undergraduate projects that reconstruct buildings in and around Edinburgh, developing a proficiency of Adobe Suite, Revit and MS 365.
I am highly motivated and am keen to join a devoted and creative team in undertaking inspiring projects across the United Kingdom.
