About me
I'm an incisive and conscientious broadcast journalist with five years' international experience. I trained at Cardiff University after studying English at Oxford and have most recently been working for Al Jazeera English in Qatar.
I'm intuitive, analytical, creative and imaginative. I'm hard-working and thrive under pressure. I have a mixture of experience in output and input, with my most notable reporting trip being into Syria for Chemical Weapons Day. I can work on on-the-day reaction and longer term programme development and planning and am just as comfortable reporting and producing. I'm HEFAT trained. I'm good at managing a team and taking direction and can turn around accurate and engaging content quickly. I'm a good problem solver and think quickly on my feet. I love breaking news, but believe it should be balanced with thoughtful, slower content.
In my free time I'm a poet and writer. I'm a good night at the pub but I know when to be serious. I'm a good addition to a team. I like dogs, country walks, and cooking.
