Dear Recruitment,

I have over 6 years experience working within the Graphic Design industry for a Screen printing company; producing designs using Adobe Creative Suite on both Mac and Windows platforms and screen printing for clients from both corporate and private sectors on a varied portfolio of promotional and retail work.

During my time at Notorious Ltd I worked closely with clients, creating design work to a strict brief or using initiative to work from a concept to come up with new creative ideas. It was important to consider the budget, ethics and branding of the company, and at all times manage client expectations. It was also essential to prioritise workload to ensure multiple deadlines were met. My work also included colour separating final artwork and producing film work to expose onto silk screens. Depending on the quantity, quality and print requirements of the client, designs would be hand printed onto garments or manual staff would be used to print on large automated machinery. In addition to the creative side I was also responsible for the accounts, ensuring purchase orders and invoices were produced; as well as managing the shipping or courier of orders. Part of my role also included dealing with suppliers on a regular basis, and through this i have built strong working relationships with suppliers and clients and developed excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

More recently I have expanded my experience to the sportswear industry; through recent freelance work I have worked alongside a sportswear company specialising in Lacrosse kits. Independently of this I have also been designing team cycling kits for teams from across the UK. The design work is based on sublimation, so I have developed an understanding of this production technique and pattern cutting and garment construction. This has been more challenging and working alongside specialised printers and sublimators has given me an insight into their requirements and methods of work.

I consider myself to be a hard working, dependable, friendly individual with a pro active approach to work. I have good administration skills and excellent IT proficiency within the Adobe creative suite. The combination of these essential skills, my previous experience and my enthusiasm for design makes me certain that i am an ideal candidate for this position.
