About me

Let me introduce myself, my name is Anthony Pike and I am a mature student at the University of the West of England. Although I am a student in my final year of a Creative Industrial Design degree I am 27 and have previous experience in design. Before attending University I worked in London as a Graphic Designer and Print Artworker for seven years. I was also able during my course to work at one of the leading design consultancies in London in the branding and design department. During my time spent working I have developed expert skills in all DTP software which include Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Quark Express, Freehand etc. Taking my experience into my degree course has enabled me to produce projects to a high standard.

During my time spent at university I have been able work on projects that cover all areas in design, from designing new washing detergent bottles, point of sale displays and for my final project looking at packaging for medical testing kits. The briefs that were given helped me focus on not just designing the final product/service, but also helped me focus on paying a huge amount of attention to branding, materials and the business side of design. Along with the technical skills like sketching, CAD modelling and model making I feel that the course has enabled me to finish my degree with a huge range of skills.
