About me

Dear sir/Madame,

As a graduate from Birmingham City University, in which I gained a BA (Hons) Visual Communication, I have achieved many skills and techniques, which has helped me to become the photographer that I am today.

I was given the opportunity to take part in a competition in 2008. The task consisted of producing photographs for the company Cotton Ridge to advertise their jumpers for universities to purchase. As a winner of the competition my images were placed on their website and over 80 different universities in England.

Once I had finished university I was given the opportunity to become an intern for the company Storm. Storm is a well established brand that provides a range of products from jewellery to clothes to handbags. My role as a photography intern was to support the web department and help them in any jobs that needed to be done. My main responsibility was to capture photographs of watches and to edit them on Photoshop; this was then placed on to the Storm website.

I also was able to get in touch with the company Mali Lacia, who specialise in jewellery and landed the job to become their main product photographer for their various up and coming range of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. This opportunity that I was given has taught me to be creative and to tackle each product individually, to show every detail and uniqueness of each piece. This job role can be challenging but being able to produce photographs that the company as well as myself are happy with, is what makes me want to push myself to produce even more images that sell the piece from the photograph.

Photography is my passion and having had the opportunity to become a product photographer, I wanted to use my skills and be able to try a new aspect of photography. I contacted the company EYE JOGIA and was given the opportunity in assisting the well-established Asian wedding photographers. This gave me an insight on how the business works and what creativity and skills has made the company as successful as they are today. My role as an assistant was to help with the equipment by setting up and making sure everything is in place and ready to work whilst shooting. I also had the opportunity to shoot at some of the events.

I believe I am a hard working person whom seeks to achieve the best in my life through my qualities of being both a strong minded individual and a good team worker. I am a person with many skills and creativity and I hope to articulate these skills in any future opportunities that may be placed upon me.

I hope that you will take me in to consideration and give me the chance to show you my capabilities and passion as an individual and would love the chance in meeting. I look forward in hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely

Anokhi Patel
