About me
I have gained experience across a range of luxury & lifestyle men's and women's publications where I have had work published online and in print. I have written on topics ranging from gender politics, men's and women's fashion, celebrity culture as well as restaurant and beauty reviews. Whilst at Gentleman's Journal, a men's fashion publication, I gained experience in e-commerce and digital fashion editorial. One of my main roles at the magazine was coming up with daily content for a series of listicles and short articles that featured the magazines affiliated fashion brands. I enjoyed the fast paced nature of working to tight deadlines throughout the day. This is the sort of work culture that drives me most and makes me produce the best results. At this point I knew that I wanted to explore copywriting further. Alongside my internships and freelancing work, I have undertaken copywriting briefs for a number of small businesses and clients from a diverse array of industries. They include a performance marketing agency, a social media agency, a freelance artist, and a London gallery. A career in copywriting is a good fit for my skills that include a flair for writing, a creative yet critical mind, and a meticulous eye for detail. I loved the cut and thrust of copywriting work whilst freelancing, but now I am looking to be part of a vibrant and supportive team. To work for a brand as iconic as Selfridges would be a fantastic start to a full time copywriting career. With a academic background in History followed by a masters degree in Gender, I am a candidate that has written at a high level for many years and is used to the tasks of sub-editing at an academic, as well as journalistic level. I will also bring a warm and professional business acumen developed from a professional background in communications to a role in the editorial world where maintaining good relationships with brands are crucial.
