Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a position within your company as a Designer. Since graduating from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University in July 2000 I have worked as an in-house Graphic Designer for Yospace and more recently Muraspec. I hope to follow a career within the design industry and would like to gain experience in any capacity that you feel is suitable.

My Bachelor of Arts with Honors is in Textile Design and Surface Decoration. During the course of my degree thorough research enabled me to predict trends and work to directional concepts. My degree work incorporated a range of disciplines and processes. I have experience of a range of software including Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe ImageReady, Adobe Illustrator, Quark Xpress and Dreamweaver on both Mac and PC Systems.

I have now been working as a graphic designer for the past three years. I have experience of

both in-house and consultancy based briefs within both the wireless software industry and the contract interiors market.

The work included direct mail, point of sales and magazine advertising; web and electronic based communications; corporate communications; styling and directing photo shoots; research and development leading to proof of concept presentations.

I also gained experience of project management and was appointed as internal communications officer leading to further research opportunities.

I would like to achieve a position, which offers me the opportunity to grow and to prove my abilities within a professional environment.

The experiences that I have gained through my degree course and work environment have led me to take a professional view of a product and its place within the design industry. I have developed conceptual design skills. I am also a confident communicator and excel when learning new skills. I feel that these skills would enable me to carry out the role of a Designer.
