Annabel's work
About Annabel
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have recently graduated with a 2:1 in Psychology from the University of Kent and I am very keen to pursue a career in media.
Media and advertising appeals to me as it is a very dynamic and exciting field that is constantly developing and it has a massive impact on shaping people's lives. I am incredibly passionate about advertising and how effective the role of the media is in helping companies present a positive image of themselves to the public. I feel I would be suitable for a role in this field, being a confident and energetic individual who loves to learn and enjoys new challenges.
Having a reputation for taking pride in my work and ensuring I complete any task to the best of my ability, I would bring these attributes to your company.
Throughout my degree I enjoyed all my modules, but the one that stood out for me was "Evaluating Evidence: Becoming a Smart Research Consumer". This module involved learning about the different techniques used to persuade consumers, how to analyse these techniques and how it relates to advertising. I found this very interesting, which then sparked my interest towards the media and advertising industry.
I also found the statistics modules I completed throughout my degree very interesting which gave me a lot of experience of data analysis and I very quickly picked up how to use a new statistics program. I have a lot of experience with different Microsoft office programs such as Word and Excel, as I have used them extensively throughout my education.
Having combined my studies at University of Kent with my job as a Sales Adviser, it has given me good organisational and time management skills. I feel confident working on my own as throughout my degree I completed a lot of individual assignments to a high standard.
My role as a sales adviser at Debenhams and in food service at Waitrose has given me a lot of experience in delivering excellent customer service and communication, as being the first point of contact for the customers. I have also gained a lot of experience in talking to customers on the phone in which a polite and courteous manner is needed. I also feel confident working with members of the public as well as staff at different levels. I have a lot of experience of working as a part of a team and really enjoy meeting new people.
I am a very self-motivated and conscientious individual who is very social and thrives off being given new challenges and being able to push myself.
Thank you for taking the time to read this cover letter and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Yours faithfully,
Annabel Newport
