About me

I have recently gained a 2.1 BA Honours degree in Film Studies at the University of Sussex and it has always been my ambition to pursue a career in editorial, and I feel that the analytical skills I have gained from my degree would be particularly beneficial to this type of role. When choosing my degree I decided that I wanted to study something analytical, but have fun whilst doing it, and Film Studies provided me with the ideal opportunity to do this. Similarly, in my career I want to combine these analytical skills with a job that will challenge and excite me as I have an inquisitive mind, and I think that working in journalism fits these requirements. I am especially drawn to the variety associated with the position as I enjoy a sense of diversity in everything I do, which is probably one of the main reasons that editorial work is so appealing to me.

Although I have only recently graduated, I feel that I have already had considerable writing experience working for a number of publications; namely, 'The Badger' -The University paper, Three Weeks Publications - a magazine that is published during the Brighton Festival, reviewing the events taking place, and teenscenemag.com - a teenage website where I have recently been promoted to editor of the Upcoming Movies section. In addition, I have also been fortunate enough to work in the Empire magazine office and for The Times' supplement: 'Body and Soul' on work experience placements.
