About me
I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2018 at Mary Immaculate College where I majored in Media and Communication Studies and Psychology, I then went on to further study Media, achieving my Masters in Media and Communication Studies at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in 2019, achieving a First Class Honours.
Much of my experience in production is around documentary filmmaking, television and film production, radio production, and podcasting. In 2018 I produced a short-form documentary called 'Multiplicity' which documented the rich culture in Limerick since Limerick City was named the National City of Culture in 2014. Adhering to strict deadlines, maintaining organisation, and leadership were always key while on this project whether that was when I was booking interviews, organizing live interviews, developing and editing scripts, video editing or delegating tasks.
I have produced and edited my very own radio documentary called 'A Family Affair' in which I documented three generations of Irish women from the same family and how listening to the radio has shaped who they are and how it has changed throughout their lives.
I also co-created, edited, produced, and co-hosted a podcast called 'Dear, Mary, I...' in 2019 which was an agony aunt show where I, along with my co-hosts gave advice on topics ranging from careers to relationships. The podcast was also aired on Wired FM, Limerick City's only student radio station that broadcast to all the college campuses in the Limerick area.
I also have experience creating digital content such as reels and tutorials where I was marketing content across multiple platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and on my very own personal blog. To create this digital content I used various tools such as WordPress, Final Cut Pro, InShot, Canva and Logic Pro when creating videos and blog posts which better developed my proofreading skills, written communication and editing skills.
I take great pleasure in writing, and I have been writing since I was 12 years old, with most of my work being primarily creative writing, such as short stories and poetry. I have submitted works previously for literary competitions such as Listowel's Writers Week and The National Poetry Competition.
I am very comfortable with computers and can use programs such as SAGE Accounts Software, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Workspace, Final Cut Pro, and Mac OS.
