About me
I have finished my degree in Fashion Design at the University for the Creative Arts Epsom on the 6th of June 2011 and had an amazing opportunity to showcase my graduate collection at Graduate Fashion Week in London. My collection is heavily leather based and references to traditional tailoring, casual wear and draping.
Through my degree I have been able to develop several of my industry specific skills such as a strong knowledge of pattern cutting, draping, construction skills and high fabric awareness. My illustration work, along with technical drawing is also very strong and I am extremely proficient on both Illustrator and Photoshop. My previous work placements have taught me to work well under pressure and conform well to deadlines. I consider myself as a very sociable person who isn't afraid of working in a team and communicate with different groups of people.
While working in a retail company American Apparel I have gained a great experience in High-Street market and always make sure to stay well informed of current trends and fashions within modern women's wear and menswear. Also I had a great chance to be an in-store stylist for new staff and even been advised to write the style reports for the whole American Apparel staff in UK. My Graduate collection included accessories for which I was nominated for the Mulberry Accessories Award. Working within accessories is another area of fashion which I'm interested in developing professionally. My design skills are highly flexible and adaptable and I enjoy applying my skills to all aspects of fashion design.
