About me

I have just finished my contract at The Third Floor and I am looking for new opportunities to work within 3D. I enjoyed working in Post visualisation to a quick turnaround and often having to find solutions efficiently. Skills include using character rigs for roto-animation and matchmove of cameras and object tracking. Also adding some basic layout set up for environments.

My previous experience was working at Industrial, Light & Magic. I was working there for the last 3 years and five months in the layout department. My role included creating full cg cameras, camera takeovers as well as animating camera repositioning and push ins and and also combining multiple plates. I also have a strong understanding of the match move pipeline: solving for lens distortion on anamorphic shows and working with stereo cameras. A big part of my role was also doing match animation and roto-animation work (solving for object and character match move). I have also worked with facial capture on shows including Aladdin and Ready Player One. I am also have experience at shooting lens grids for lens solving.

Core skills include: Camera tracking, object tracking and soft body tracking. Creating layout and master scenes and an understanding of photogrammetry. Primary software includes Maya, 3DEqualizer, PFTrack, Syntheyes, Matchmover and Nuke. Roto-animation using model character rigs and modelled assets.

I come from a generalist background and am most skilled in layout, match move and modelling, as I have done these primarily for my previous jobs. I am also skilled at texturing & UVing, lighting and rendering and basic comp. I would also love the opportunity to work in different areas of 3D to learn new skills.
