About me

I am a motivated, hard-working Designer currently working as the Senior Graphic Designer at Waterfront Magazines Ltd, a luxury lifestyle magazine. I am responsible for the final overall look and design of the magazine and I am solely accountable for making sure the publication goes to print on time and is uploaded correctly to the printers.
I have an in-depth knowledge of the design-for-print process and repo and have a real passion for good, clean, stylish design. Although fairly constrained by the house style of the magazine I have a good eye for typography.
I also work as a freelance graphic designer for Remark Communications Ltd who are a company that design and build exhibition stands for some of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. I design and create the large-scale graphics, visuals and banners for all of the exhibitions and have lots of experience preparing large-scale artwork for print. From working at both of the companies about I have gained an in-depth knowledge of the design-for-print process and I know all about bleed, resolution, trim marks, etc.
I am fully proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign CS5 and use all three software packages on a daily basis to layout and design the magazine and stand graphics. I am also fully capable of using either Windows or Mac OS effectively and can use the full Microsoft Office suite amongst other programs.
I am used to managing a small team and work well as part of a group, but am equally happy to work alone if left to my own devices. I possess good people skills and deal with clients' demands on a daily basis, turning their specific needs into professional design solutions.
Although I have been working at two great companies for the last couple of years, I feel ready to take on a new challenge, so I am looking for a full-time permanent position in the London area. I have a base in London and I will be happy to come along for a meeting or interview.
