About me

I am a new Industrial Design and Technology graduate from Loughborough University. I have been awarded a First Class BA Honours degree with a Diploma in Professional Studies (DPS) and am currently seeking an employment opportunity within the design Industry.

I am hard working, always keen to learn and passionate about design. I regard project management, and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently as one of my key skills, along with my sketching and rendering ability. I also have a high degree of ability with regards to CAD. In particular I am experienced with 3D modelling programmes such as Pro ENGINEER Wildfire and Solidworks.

My degree course gave me a broad range of design experience, ranging from the creative elements of product styling and semantics, to the more technical side of CAD and materials selection. The course also includes many team based projects, such as the design and prototyping of a mechanical product, and more recently, the manufacture of a working injection mould tool. In this project, my team elected to produce my mould tool design. Consequently I was required to organise certain aspects of the group and delegate tasks to ensure the successful completion of the project. Team work of this kind has enhanced my confidence and communication skills, and I find great enjoyment working within a productive team environment of this nature.

The key requirement for my DPS was the successful completion of a year working within industry. I spent 14 months working at Artform International Ltd, as a member of the development design team, producing Point of Purchase displays for the L'Oreal and Rimmel cosmetics brands. Contributing to the team effort was very rewarding and allowed me to gain valuable experience of working in a professional studio environment where regular client liaison was essential. In addition, working on projects from concept generation through to production allowed me to gain a good understanding of manufacturing and costing processes, and as a result has made me a better designer.
