About me

I am applying for this position of packaging artworker, as I believe I have the right combination of experience, enthusiasm and personality to become a valued member of your design team.

Reflecting on my experience over the last 2 years has enabled me to identify my strengths and the aspects within my role that really inspire and stimulate me. I would like to be able to continue to develop these in a new working environment with more opportunities for progression. I am in no doubt that I am most motivated and effective when engaged in the challenge of creating, designing and perfecting artwork for clients and helping them visualise their ideas.

The journey from college, through university and into my current position has been rewarding and engaging. I have gained a diverse range of skills and knowledge from different creative practices, which have provided me with a good insight into the design industry. Since being introduced to the Adobe Creative Suite in school, I continued to enhance my knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator during my degree and in work. My current position has enabled me to use and hone these skills on a daily basis, and share my expertise with team colleagues when necessary.

My design skills are not solely computer based. I have taken every opportunity to continue to extend my own professional development, regularly taking time to practice my traditional drawing skills, lettering, traditional signwriting, calligraphy and more recently stone carving, borrowing and incorporating aspects from each of these into my work.

Having a multifaceted role, and working as part of a of busy, overstretched team has required an ability to tailor my actions and reactions to individuals to ensure collaborative teamwork. I am relied upon to make judgements under pressure, be sensitive whilst organising others and meet tight deadlines and deliver high quality products to the client.

I am aware that change can be a constructive process for improvement and I continually demonstrate self motivation and self reliance whilst maintaining a sense of humour and a good working ethos. I am looking forward to an opportunity that will utilise my skills, experience and passions, whilst enabling me to learn new skills and grow professionally.
